We collect personal information necessary to facilitate car sharing transactions, verify identities, ensure safety, and comply with legal and insurance requirements.

When you register an account, list a vehicle, or book a rental, you provide us with:

• Verification & Driving Data: Driver's license number, issuing province/country, driver's license photos, and consent to conduct driver record checks (abstracts).
• Financial Data: Payment information (though handled by Stripe), bank account details for Host payouts, and billing address.
• Vehicle Data (Hosts): Vehicle Identification Number (VIN), license plate number, registration information, insurance details (including policy class/endorsements), and maintenance records.
• Communications: Content of messages sent through the Platform's messaging system, customer support interactions, and dispute documentation.

1.2 Information Collected Automatically (Usage Data)

When you use the Platform, we automatically collect data about your device and activity:

• Log Data: IP address, browser type, operating system, access times, pages viewed, and the page you visited before navigating to our Platform.
• Cookies and Tracking: We use cookies and similar technologies (web beacons) to track activity and hold certain information.
• Analytics Data: We use Google Analytics to gather non-personal, aggregated statistics on website traffic and user demographics to improve the service.
• User Experience Tools: We use Microsoft Clarity (or similar session recording tools) to capture non-personal data on user interactions, such as mouse movements, clicks, and scrolling, solely to identify bugs and improve the user interface.

If a Host’s vehicle is equipped with a telematics or GPS device, or if the Host provides the Platform with access to such data, we may collect:

• Location Data: Real-time and historical GPS location of the vehicle during the rental period.
• Driving Behavior Data: Speed, acceleration, braking events, and trip distance, used exclusively for insurance claims, dispute resolution, and safety analysis. Hosts are required to disclose the presence of such devices to Renters in their listings.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the collected information for the following purposes:

  • Background Check Agencies: To verify driver eligibility and identity (Identity and Driving Data).
  • Google/Microsoft: For analytics purposes (Usage Data).
• Insurance and Legal Parties: We will share relevant information (Identity, Driving, and Trip Data) with:
  • The Host’s insurance provider (e.g., ICBC) or the Renter’s insurer to process accident or damage claims, as outlined in the Terms of Use.
  • Law enforcement, government authorities, or courts if required by law or a valid legal process (e.g., subpoena or warrant).
• Business Transfers: If Novadrive is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction.

4. Payment Processing (Stripe)

We rely on Stripe to process all financial transactions. We do not directly store or handle your full credit card information. This data is provided directly to Stripe, whose use of your personal information is governed by their privacy policy and terms of service. By using the Platform, you acknowledge and agree to Stripe's data handling practices.

We implement industry-standard security measures (e.g., encryption, firewalls, secure servers) to protect your personal information from unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, and destruction. However, no method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is 100% secure. While we strive to protect your data, we cannot guarantee its absolute security.
